The organisers of Gleams Awards 2024 has announced the nomination of Africa’s talents Burna Boy, Wizkid, and Davido, alongside figures in film and business such as Funke Akindele, Mo Abudu, and Tony Elumelu.
The award is slated for September 2024, will be taking place in Lagos State and anticipation is already building as fans prepare to support their favorite stars. The event will not only highlight the nominees but will also feature electrifying performances and special presentations, further amplifying the joyous spirit of the awards.
A statement from the Chief Executive officer of Gleams Awards, Rex Moses, said that the awards is positioned to serve as a platform dedicated to honoring outstanding contributions in the arts and social impact, celebrating those who have made significant strides in their respective fields.
He explained that this inaugural edition would be a memorable night filled with glamour, inspiration, and unforgettable performances, recognizing the creativity and resilience of African talents.
Rex said that Burna Boy, Wizkid, and Davido, have been at the forefront of the music scene, adding that the influence of Funke Akindele, Mo Abudu, and Tony Elumelu in film and business respectively cannot be overstated.
He explained that their nominations, alongside those of Tyla, Diamond Platnumz, Ayra Starr, Rema, Tunde Ednut, among others are a testament to their hard work and the cultural impact they have made.
